I that link doesn’t work, go to http://www.npr.org/programs/wait-wait-dont-tell-me/ and find the link for the April 16th show.

Congrats on getting the prize on “Wait Wait”!
Shelby! I’m so excited to read your blog. I heard about you on “Wait, wait…”.
Just heard you. . .and googled to find the blog. Lived in LA when I was in college (CSUN) – about a million years ago. Went to the Land of the Mouse as often as I could — before that, had been with the family once (in 3rd grade) with the family, on a Thanksgiving trip. But now, living on the other coast or the midwest, I go to the “other” home of the Mice, in Florida. Look forward to reading more!
I just heard your segment on Wait Wait! We were driving past Disneyland while you were on the air. Congratulations!
Yep, just heard your Wait Wait segment, and just got back from DL Monday…an irresistible combo. Look forward to reading about your adventures.
Congrats Shelby! I just heard you on Wait Wait and Googled your site.
Lucky you! I grew up in Southern California and we went to Disneyland at least a couple of times a year all through the 60s and 70s. Last year, we all flew in to take my mom to Disneyland for her 80th birthday (it’s all she asked for). I’m flying to LA soon for the LA Times Festival of Books and added an extra day to slip over to the park on my own — some of us never outgrow the Mouse!
Have a grand time (hope you find a way to get into Club 33)!
alright, i’m in the top 10 listeners who heard you on wait wait! like janice and becky, i did a google search to find you and your blog. looking forward to reading it. i grew up in pasadena, baldwin park, and chino before my family moved to the midwest. great memories of going to disneyland in the mid 70s.
Just googled “blog disneyland shelby” after hearing you on Wait Wait… I am in Northern California, otherwise, I would be at Disneyland all the time! Excited to explore your blog!
congrats! I would love it if you would post a sound bite of carl on your machine.
Heard you on “Wait, Wait”. I love the idea of this blog. I’m a big Disney fan and mother of a brilliant 3 year old son. I plan to follow your blog and can’t wait to read about your experience.
Hi Shelby — Maybe there’s a book in your blog? I’d love to know more about what you’re writing, especially your books for children. Best, Brenda Bowen, Sanford J. Greenburger Associates.
Hi from wait wait audience
I heard you on “Wait, Wait” too. I have loved Disneyland since I was a child and now that I’m taking my own kids I’m totally jealous of your plan and I’ll be subscribing with interest (and envy).
Just heard your segment on Wait Wait and had to come check out your blog 🙂
W8, W8, DON’T TELL ME
You’re blog will forever be associated with The Wire in my mind.
Hi Shelby, just heard you on wait wait and Googled you right away. I, too, am a stay at home mom with season passes to Disneyland and always looking for new and fun things to do at the House of Mouse. Congratulations on winning Carl Castle’s voice on your answering machine! I’ll be adding your blog to my reader.
Cheers,
Stephanie

Yup. I’m a wait-wait-er . . .
Hi! Yes, just googled you while listening to Wait Wait! Looking forward to reading your blog.
Also from Wait Wait audience! Has your hit counter screamed “mercy” yet?
Googled and found a link here on the DIS boards after hearing Wait Wait. I love the show, but I love Disneyland more! 🙂 I grew up in Torrance so Disneyland is my park, but now I live in Utah so I get most of my Disney fix online (primarily podcasts, and WDW seems overrepresented if you ask me!). I’m hoping to add some great DL blogs to that – starting right here. 🙂
Another from Wait, Wait. I’m on a Disneyland kick at the moment, so I was quite eager to find your site. Looks great. I’ll be following it.
Heard you on the podcast of Wait Wait on the way to work this morning and googled you as soon as I got to the office!
I came directly here from Wait Wait. I love Disneyland and am looking forward to working through the posts. I will send links around to fellow Disney-lovers too..
What a great project!
Heard you on Wait, Wait… and wish that I could visit DL all year.
Another wait wait listener! I grabbed the link from the open thread on wait wait’s main page. how fun!
To all who found this happy place on wait, wait…welcome! I too heard your segment on their podcast and promptly googled your site. Look forward to reading your exploits. We are a family of APs and have taken a similar challenge.
Hi Shelby! I was listening to Wait, Wait out here in NC and I said ‘Hey, I know her!” What a great project. Hope all is well with you and the family!
OK, so I actually heard about you from a post on the RQ forum, which was referencing wait wait. How’s that for an obscure path? I love your blog! I’ve spent my entire morning internet indulgence time (i.e. DD’s nap time) perusing through your site. I laughed my head off seeing your post about the creepy clown in the popcorn machine. That clown has always freaked me out! I had no idea that the cart by the Matterhorn has an abominable snowman instead of a clown. I am sooo going to check that out on my next trip. I think my best memories of DL have been when we’ve checked out the things we usually ignore in our rush to ride the E ticket rides. I’ve bookmarked your site, and I’ll be tuning in.
I’m so glad you won, and am really looking forward to keeping up on your blog. I’ve been going to Disneyland since it opened!
Loved you on wait wait! Since you are trying to experience everything Disneyland has to offer I want to invite you spend some time pin trading with me and introduce you to other pin traders. Pin Trading is a relatively new part of The Disney experience (about 10 years old). Let me know if you are interested feel free to contact me through email and congrats on your big win.
Haha, and I thought I was the only one crazy enough to immediately Google “Shelby Disneyland blog” after listening to my Wait Wait podcast in the car this morning. Can’t wait to catch up on your adventures!
Hi! I just listened to “Wait, Wait” on my iPod this morning, and had to come find your blog. I also live in So Cal, about 70 miles from Anaheim, and can’t wait to read more about your great finds at Disneyland.
I just listened to my podcast of wait wait from the weekend, and googled your blog! My family (anywhere from 4-12 of us) has always gone to Disneyland every two years (we live in Northern CA) and I just got back from a Disneyland trip yesterday, so it has been a fun read! I’m excited to see if you find all the gems my family goes to and learn about new ones!
Yep, heard you on Wait Wait today (I always listen to the podcast later in the week.) Had to google – sounds like a cool project! Looking forward to following along 🙂
As I wrote on your facebook, I found you on WWDTM. I’m a huge fan of both blogging and D-Land so I was really excited to find your blog.
Heard you on Wait Wait and performed the obligatory 3 minutes of Google searching to find the blog. Now I have to convince my husband that once we’re fully employed, a Disney vacation is something we could THINK about. 🙂 I’m enjoying reading through all the back-posts and have added you to my Google reader.
I admit, I’m a bit behind, but I was just listening to WWDTM and immediately looked for your blog. I live about an hour away from Disney World in Florida, so I’m interested to learn about the differences between the two famous theme parks.
I heard you on Wait Wait as well! I’m a little late though, I listen to the podcast in bits and pieces instead of live, but I had to look up your blog after hearing that bit!
Just heard you on Wait, Wait. What a fun idea for a blog. Love your sense of humor!
I heard you on Wait Wait too and I had to come look up your blog. I love it! It’s so funny and it reminds me of my trips to Disneeyland growing up. We used to go every year mid-December during my pre-teen into teenage years. But I have not been in about 10 years and I’d love to go back!
