Of all of the shops on Main Street, I have to say that my second-favorite is the Watch Shop. My favorite being the Magic Shop, of course.
Anyway, the Watch Shop is located right next to the Carnation Cafe.

There is also a bathroom back in here, in case you need to duck out and use one before you get to the end of Main Street.
It's rarely crowded
The watch shop is super-cool because not only does it carry watches, it also carries a watch artist. That is, you can get a hand-drawn watch all for yourself.

And the custom-drawn ones you can buy in color or black and white.
The black and white ones are more affordable, but seriously? If you're getting an artist watch, go big or go home. Which means that I was my Alice in color.
Now after admiring all of these lovely watches, you look around and find some freakishly scary dog statue guarding some ugly handbags.
Don't worry, he doesn't bite.
There are also some Ed Hardy-esque monstrosities to buy.

Honestly, why would you buy beaded stuff you can get for 1/4 of the price at home? It's not like they're Disney in any way.

Once upon a time, the jewelry store used to carry a lot of really classy, high-end jewelry, but it really doesn’t anymore. Oh, and that’s also Theo’s stroller at the bottom of the picture, where I abandoned him to take these pictures.

That looks more like Jasmine with the head band than like Rapunzel. Did it say Rapunzel on it? (Sorry, Tangled is my FAVORITE Disney flick. Go figure.)

When I was little I used to collect Disney watches. I probably had around 15 of them! I would get them for birthdays, holidays or if I begged really hard when we visited Disneyland. I LOVED them. For the life of me I don’t know what happened to them. The only one I still have is a really nice Winnie-the-pooh watch and a very old Cinderella watch.
Yep, it’s Jasmine. My daughter dragged me to the Disney Vault store in Downtown disney to look at the Couture t-shirts that all her friends have (like the Jasmine one in the post). Some are nice and some are downright strange. What did she get? Alice! She’s always been an Alice fan and it was the nicest one. I liked the Snow White one a la Warhol with one of the Snow White’s with a sparkly headband.
I then was dragged to the Watch Shop (which I really liked) to see the shirts inside Disneyland and to make sure there wasn’t a Rapunzel one and to double check that she got the best one. She did.

It was called Long’s Jewelry shop, one of several lease stores from early Disneyland days. Cameos a specialty which Mr. Dwight Long brought to his store. I worked there summer of 67 and 68. It was a great time and Disneyland was a joyful place.
